Best Things Come In Small Packages

By Sherry Riter 5 Comments

So often the focus is on more and bigger, but sometimes the best things come in small packages.

Going to Grave’s Mountain Apple Festival is a thrill I enjoy every year. Not only do I adore the delicious apples, the excitement of new experiences like connecting with the little red hen and watching a moment in goat history take place, but I also treasure the little things.

There are many horses at the apple festival and some are not typical. As a matter of fact, I like the horses that are much smaller than that the average horse. They are so cute!

Of course, these horses are definitely on the small side.

Don’t you just love their coloring and long mane?.

There’s also a small pumpkin patch at the apple festival. As we walked closer, I noticed a mother snapping photos of her small child who sat amongst the pumpkins.

I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of her either.

Children are definitely some of the best things found in small packages and I think this cute little girl’s mother would agree with me.

I have my own daughter who has grown up to be very petite like her grandmothers, great grandmothers, aunts and cousin.

I know that the best thing that has ever happened to me is being able to share my life with my daughter.

Alyssa has brought happiness and joy into my life.

She also will pose without complaining while I take a million pictures of her.

Look this way. Click. Turn your head that way. Click. Smile. Click. Don’t smile. Click.

Yes, Alyssa is patient with me as I am with her.

Things In Small Packages

What are some of the best things that come in small packages?

  • Truffles
  • A puppy
  • A raindrop
  • Granule of sugar
  • Living in a tumbleweed
  • A Lego brick
  • Inside the eye of a needle
  • A baby

Yeah, a baby.

More specifically…my baby who has grown up to become a beautiful young woman.

Yes, the best things do come in small packages and I thank God every day that Alyssa is alive so that I can enjoy life with her.

"More" and "bigger" are over-rated concept. Less is more.

Love the pictures. Your Daughter is so beautiful. I love small packages too! But Stormy is a small package that grew into a very big package and is still growing.

Yes, your baby has grown up to become a very beautiful young woman! And the interesting thing is that Alyssa looks a lot like you — except her hair is blonde and yours is red! So when you take pictures of her, we get to see glimpses of beautiful you! :o)
