Professional Artist Daniel Lai – Three Dimensional Hieroglyphs

By Sherry Riter 4 Comments

Using books that people have thrown away, Malaysia-born, Tennessee-based artist Daniel Lai creates art with several mediums in varied styles and subject matter.

Each of his book sculptures are made with the paper folded onto itself to create a blossom effect and is accompanied by a clay figure of a man. Each of the intricately folded paper sculptures look somewhat like a large flower. The figurine is creatively displayed to convey a thought that enhances the pages of the book.

If interested, you can purchase one of his sculptures at the Daniel Lai Kenjio Etsy store.

Which one of Daniel Lai’s art pieces is your favorite. I saved the one I like the most for last (as usual). It reminds me how much I love to sew and the peace it gives me when I’m sewing. ๐Ÿ™‚

How do you find all these innovative artist? I really enjoyed looking at Daniel Lai’s art. My favorite? Writer’s Block. Maybe I should buy it for your birthday. It might inspire you to get over your writer’s block and write more posts. LOL On second thought, maybe you should buy it for me for my birthday. Maybe it will inspire me to write a post on my website. ๐Ÿ™‚

How do I find them? Well, I sit at the end of the Internet and wait for someone to publish a new post about something I haven’t ever read before and then I share it with you all. ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

They are all great. Writer’s block makes me smile. Do you think I could ship all my old books to him?
