Paper Artist Lisa Nilsson’s Anatomical Art Work

By Sherry Riter 12 Comments

Paper artist usually brings to my mind things such as cute or pretty greeting cards or at most a lovely scene to hang behind glass. However, paper artist Lisa Nilsson puts a whole new twist on paper art. Her anatomical quilled pieces show a magnificent talent and skill. The tedious process of winding paper tightly around little rolls in order to get the artsy effect phenomenally render cross-sections of the human anatomy.

I’ve always been awed and intrigued with the human form and marvel at the intricate workings of the body. Lisa Nilsson’s art capture the body beautifully.

Hi Red, I enjoyed your article. It’s been a while since I’ve visited your blog here. I think that I would have patience for this kind of paper art, after all I have patience for braiding my own entire head of micro braids for 3 days until finished. Great post.

Wow that’s really quite unique, almost looks like a batik effect, which is an indonesian art form.
Looks almost 3d in it’s effect.

Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I thought about the amazing number of hours it took her to complete each piece. Not only is the body gorgeous, but her works are quite wonderful.
