Tell The Truth Thursday – Rainbow’s End

By Sherry Riter 3 Comments

Tell The Truth Thursday

Welcome to “Tell The Truth Thursday” where the question that has been posted in my right side bar gets answered by me and you…and sometimes my husband too! Did you prepare your post and are you ready to drop your URL into the McLinky so that we all can follow? Grab the thumb above linking it back to this blog posting and let’s get started…

The question this week is quite simple:

What do you think is at the end of the rainbow??

I’ve seen quite a few rainbows, but a few weeks ago it rained really hard. I was on my way home and as I rounded the bend I saw a HUGE rainbow with the end going through the roof of my home…no kidding! I immediately pulled over and sat watching as the rainbow increased and then decreased in color and width until it eventually faded away.

That scene inspired the question this week.

I love rainbows. According to Irish folklore, fairies put a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and leprechaun guard it. Of course, I know this isn’t true.

Sitting in my car on the side of the road with the rainbow so brightly shining, I realized that I’ve enjoyed the riches at the end of many rainbows. I think we all experience several ultimate experiences during our lifetime and it is good to step back to acknowledge them often.

At the age of twenty-five, I was constantly aching inside with the desire to have children. It wasn’t just a simple “want”…it was a deep, longing which culminated into a painful ache. All I had ever wanted was to have a baby. My friends had long since had babies of their own and seeing them all the time was really hard. After many more years, I had almost given up on my dream. Then one perfect Spring day with bluebonnets blooming under a huge blue sky and lots of help from my doctor, I found Alyssa, my sweet daughter, wrapped in a cuddly little blanket at the end of the rainbow. Ahh yes, nothing could be more precious to me than the rich experience of becoming Alyssa’s mother. That moment and every moment hence has been magical and sparkling.

Now it’s your turn to link up your rainbow posting. I love this new big picture thumbnail linky, so let’s have fun!

I shared in your rainbow with my little grand daughter. I was on my way home from work on I 95 and On the opposite side of the highway I saw the end of the rainbow right in the middle of the highway. Cars were passing throught it and at 66 yrs. old I was in awe. It was my first, after many in my life time to see where a rainbow began. Rainbows are my favorite of all Gods decorations. This one has a promise to it and I always think when I see one he is messaging us.
