It’s The Holiday Season

By Sherry Riter 8 Comments

It’s the holiday season
And Santa Claus is coming round
The Christmas snow is white on the ground
When old Santa gets into town
He’ll be coming down the chimney, down
Coming down the chimney, down

Can you hear the music?

No?

Unfortunately the snow is not white on the ground, but a thick fog has rolled into town along with old Saint Nick.

Maybe you hear the Christmas movie on the television?

No?

Hmmm…Can you smell the chocolate chip cookies in the oven baking?

No to that too?

Well, that’s what’s going on here at my home even though it’s 1:00 a.m.

Yeah, you read that correctly. I just finished making one of my mother’s gifts and felt all stressed out, so what better thing to do than bake chocolate chip cookies?

grain free chocolate chip cookies2

Are you wondering how I can be baking chocolate chip cookies if I’m grain free? Have no fear! One of my great accomplishments last week was to FINALLY create a verrrrry delicious grain free chocolate chip cookie recipe. I am ecstatic to say the least because it has been over two years since I’ve had a good chocolate chip cookie. I used to bake a batch of cookies at least once a week before I became allergic to grain, so I’ve suffered huge cookie withdrawal until last week.

Yeah, the first batch that came out yummy tasting disappeared far too fast. Actually, I made myself sick because I ate too many cookies, but I just couldn’t help myself!

Anyway, enough about my delicious cookies. It’s Christmas Day! Woohoo! My Christmas tree is lit with lots of sparkly lights, the packages are wrapped, the stockings are under the tree while Turtle, Bella and Alyssa are sleeping quite soundly. I guess they have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads since it’s the holiday season!

I’m gratefully looking forward to spending time with my family today.

Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I hope that you have a wonderful day filled with peace and love. I want to thank you all for being loyal readers of my blog and supporting me in all the other social media platforms. Your comments and messages of encouragement over the years have carried me through some really tough spots. So on this beautiful day set aside to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Lots of love and {{{hugsss}}}

    Only you, only you, only you would be baking grain free chocolate chip cookies at 1:00 a.m.! And only I, only I, only I would be up at 4:21 a.m. PST reading your post and making a comment on it! 🙂

    Merry Christmas Sherry, Alyssa, Bella and Turtle! (I feel silly wishing a turtle a Merry Christmas but what the heck! Good cheers to all even a turtle named Turtle.) I don’t feel silly wishing Bella Boo a Merry Christmas because I think she understands it’s Christmas and knowing you, you probably have a special treat for her. Well, for that matter you probably have a special treat for Turtle too. Well, I’m going to wish you have a beautiful day with your family and as for me, I’m going to have a cup of eggnog and then go to sleep! 🙂

      😛 The cookies are so yummy! I just tried to wake up Alyssa since Turtle and Bella are awake, but Alyssa just grunted and said, “In a minute.” Yeah, right. (rolling my eyes) I may end up getting my bath before Alyssa gets up if she doesn’t do it soon.

      By the way, I’ve already eaten a cookie this morning while waiting on her. LOL

      Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas Joan!!!! {{{{hugssss}}}
