From the animated Disney movie, “Sleeping Beauty” in 1959:
Narrator: In a faraway land, long ago, there lived a King and his fair Queen. Many years they had longed for a child, and finally their wish was granted. A daughter was born, and they called her Aurora. Yes, they named her after the dawn, for she filled their lives with sunshine.
I wanted to name my daughter Aurora, but her father didn’t like the name. It took us a long time before we finally agreed on “Alyssa.”
So I’m going to change the story up a bit.
From the real life of “Sherry Riter” in 2014:
Narrator: In a faraway land (Texas), long ago (21+ years), there lived a King and his fair Queen (Sherry). Many years they had longed for a child, and finally their wish was granted. A daughter was born (on a bright and sunny April day), and they called her Alyssa. Yes, they named her Alyssa because she did and still does bring them “joy” and “great happiness.” She is a noble and often very wise soul. Although they didn’t name her after the dawn, Alyssa has always filled their lives with sunshine.
I love you, Alyssa, so very much.

I love her tooooooooooo. She is sunshine to your mother’s heart and soul. I find it hard to grab her and just kiss that face like I used too. Oh yes, I know what she would do now. lol . Thank you for this precious gift named Alyssa. LoL I remember her dad did not want her to be named after toilet paper. I guess he was not into Sleeping Beauty as a child, lol lol lol
