One of the most famous and controversial ancient Greek philosophers who lived a very long time ago said:
“If there be light, then there is darkness; if cold, heat; if height, depth; if solid, fluid; if hard, soft; if rough, smooth; if calm, tempest; if prosperity, adversity; if life, death.” ~ Pythagoras ~
“If there be light, then there is darkness.”
Yes, I have experienced both light and darkness.
Right now it is darkness for many reasons.
Although…This morning Alyssa woke up feeling extremely good because she’s getting control of her allergies, so there was a major light in my day knowing that she is on her way to good health once more.
When my life is mostly light again, I will appreciate it even more because there has been so much darkness.
That reminds me of a song by Gary Allan called “Every Storm.” Part of the lyrics are:
Every storm runs, runs out of rain
Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain
If you feel like you’re “standing in the middle of the thunder and lighting” and “you’re feeling like you just can’t win” even though you’re trying, take a minute to motivate yourself and listen to this wonderful song.
