The Smiling Virus Could Become Epidemic And Is Good For You

By Sherry Riter 6 Comments

“Peace begins with a smile.”
~ Mother Teresa ~

Mona Lisa Leonardo da Vinci smiling virus good for you

In a British research initiated by Hewlett Packard, it was determined that a simple smile is worth a whole lot more than our material possessions and I think the findings will surprise you.

Using an electromagnetic brain scan machine and heart-rate monitor, the brain and heart activity was measured for various stimuli to obtain a value for the activities and how they affect mood.

The survey found that seeing a smile created more of a short-term high than sex, chocolate, shopping, receiving money, having a cigarette, drinking coffee or taking drugs.

The most shocking information of all was that the smile of a child was equivalent to 2,000 bars of chocolate or $16,000!

Yeah, you can read that sentence again. I’ve read it several times and still can hardly believe that smiling has THAT much power over our mood.

The Smiling Virus

Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized,
I’d passed it on to him.

I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile just like mine,
could travel the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

Love this. What a great message to send out. So much could be done if we only just smiled and passed it on.
