Honoring Two Beautiful Women On Mother’s Day

By Sherry Riter 18 Comments

An honored day.

It brings about a whole gamut of emotions in people – happiness, sadness, depression, gratefulness, anger…

Are you wondering which day causes such a range of feelings?

Mother’s Day.

On this special day, I want to honor two people because I feel grateful for both of them.

One brought me into the world and the other came into the world and made me a mother…

“All that I am or hope to be,
I owe to my Mother and Daughter.”

Alyssa and Mom

Dear Alyssa,

I can’t tell you how much I love you because there are no adequate words to express the depth of my emotion. From the moment I knew you were growing within me, my life had new meaning. As the years have passed, my appreciation for being your mother has remained a constant. Quite literally, you are the reason that I’m still alive to enjoy this day.

I know that I haven’t been a perfect mother, but I am so thankful that you love me anyway. I want to be a better person so that you will be always be happy that I’m your mother. Thank you so much for being my daughter, making me a mother and adding so much happiness to my life. I love you forever and always.

Dear Mom,

Of course, without you, I wouldn’t be here. We’ve been through a lot together and through it all, we still love each other. I’ve often wished we could go back to those days of buttered bread snacks in the garage, curlers in your long black hair and watching you sew my clothes. We were both so young then and it makes me laugh at some of the stupidly hilarious things we’ve done together.

Thank you for being my mother and loving me. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made on my behalf. I recognize all the little things you’ve done and often marvel that you accomplished so much. I admire your faith in God and appreciate all the prayers for me that you’ve sent to Heaven.

I wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. I love you forever and always.

I love you

And, of course, you are blessed to have your beautiful and loving mother in your life. It has been almost twelve years since my mother has passed, but since today is the day we celebrate moms, I am thinking about my own mother and remembering what an amazing, creative and loving woman she was. And although my mother is no longer physically here, she still lives on in my heart and the many memories I have of her. 🙂

Thank you my Sherry, but loving you was so easy. You made life worth living for me and changed my life the moment they placed you in my arms and I wondered what ever did I do to get this and what was I gonna do with you. LoL I was so afraid of breaking you. Thank you for coming to me and thank you for Alyssa. Thank you for my wonder meal today and my gift.
