Not too long ago, I said that books can be used for more things than reading and I have found another example to prove my point.
Guy Laramee, a Canadian artist, is carving books into amazing landscapes that sell upwards of $20,000.00 a piece! Not only are the old books turned into something new and artistic, but they deliver a somewhat subtle message. Guy (pronounced “Gee”) believes that there is too much technology and that it is eroding not only our culture, but each individual. The motto of “less is more” would be applicable to Guy Laramee’s mindset.
This one is my favorite! I love the way light cascades softly on the scene inside the book. I think it is just phenomenal!
Do you think there is too much technology? Did you get lost in the amazing landscapes reflected in the transformed books by Guy Laramee?

I love Guy’s landscapes! My favorite is the scene from Petra, the amazing Nabataean city made of rock-cut building facades in Jordan… of course, that one naturally would be my favorite! 😀

Redhead Riter, you wrote, “This one is my favorite! I love the way light cascades softly on the scene inside the book. I think it is just phenomenal!” I agree with you, it is my favorite too! All his work is so imaginative! I just don’t want him to do it to my book when it comes out! LOL
