When I told you about my movie viewing habits, it should have been a clue that doing the same thing over and over again, day after day was something that doesn’t bother me. With that said, today was just an ordinary day. However, the things that are ordinary to me, are probably not ordinary to you.
What Is Ordinary?
Anything that is ordinary is considered to be something that is commonly encountered or in other words, just usual. Today was just an ordinary day. It did not have any great excitement, but it was peaceful once I got home and that was good enough for me.
While I sat on the couch, eating my dinner, the clouds floated by quickly. In the west the clouds were dark, but to the east, there was bright blue showing through very white clouds. It was really very beautiful.
I don’t have a cute life shoe analogy today, nor am I sharing a fabulous recipe. I’m going to give you something to think about that could change your outlook on ordinary days.
Nothing lasts forever. We all were born and are now living, but some day we will die. When we step out of our body, will the ordinary days we experienced add up to equal happiness?
Just as the clouds rushed across the sky today, so also our lives are speeding past very quickly. My ordinary day is not your ordinary day. I may not have moved an ocean today, but I also didn’t sink the Titanic. So ordinary doesn’t necessarily imply “bad.”
Today was just an ordinary day for me, but the clouds were beautiful. Actually, they were extraordinarily gorgeous and that was really enough for me.
I hope you’ll realize that all your ordinary days are really extraordinary and priceless. You’ll never get to live a day over again, so it is totally unique…just like you.
