Banana Milkshake Recipe With A Secret Ingredient

By Sherry Riter 10 Comments

two yellow ripe spotted bananas 1

I spent the entire day staring at one Excel spreadsheet and at 5:00 p.m., I was finally finished with it. You would think with the amount of time I had to spend on this task that I had discovered world peace or how to prevent teenagers from being disobedient. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.

Anyway, my neck was stiff, my eyes were bugging out and my brain was kapooey. When I got home, I thought, “This would be a good time to have a husband,” but since I don’t see any willing man running to give my neck a massage, I had to settle for second best. A Secret Ingredient Banana Pecan Milkshake because it is delicious and we all know that food is comforting.

Secret Ingredient Banana Pecan Milkshake

Although my daughter would turn her nose up at my very speckled bananas, what she doesn’t know is that I often make lots of stuff out of bananas that look like this and I just don’t tell her. I’ve even been known to have fresh bananas out so that she thinks I used the non-speckled ones. Yeah, I’m a sneaky mom.

So peel two ripe bananas and put them in the blender.

Add shelled pecans.

Now add the secret ingredient…Cream cheese. It makes the milk shake creamy and yummy.

Add three to four large scoops of vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream.

Don’t forget the vanilla extract to punch up the flavor.

Pulse in the blender and pour into a tall glass.

See the rim of the glass? It is calling my lips to come closer.

So I peek into the glass and I see all kinds of yumminess in the form of a banana pecan milkshake.

The bubbles. The specks of nuts. The smoothness of the ice cream and cream cheese. I start to relax and slowly drink the delicious refreshment.

It didn’t take long before I saw the bottom of the glass.

Now I feel much more relaxed. It was almost as good as a massage.

Hmmm…

No, that was pushing it a bit. Nothing is as good or almost as good as a massage. I’m a massagaholic which means that I can’t ever get enough. 😉 However, the Secret Ingredient Banana Pecan Milkshake is divine. It helped me to relax and put the cares of the day behind me.

What?

An Excel spreadsheet? (yawn) I don’t know anything about (yawn) an Excel spreadsheet. Zzzzzzzzz….

Good Morning. I firmly believe you derived much more pleasure from your milkshake than any husband could provide in that situation, unless of course some where Prince Charming really does exist. Happy Friday!

Sure! I will make one for you too, Andy! When will you be here? I don’t want to make it too early because then it will be all melted. 😉
