Sometimes there are experiences that must be shared. It is even better if there is a picture taken that visually captures the moment forever. This story will make you smile.
I’ve talked about Brittany and her antics many times. We spent so much time together that I got to experience many memory making moments with her. During vacation to see Evan’s family one summer when Brittany was young, I captured one of those memorable moments.
Brittany had lots of Barbie dolls. Well, actually she had lots of toys. I bought her lots of toys because I not only wanted to spoil her, but since I played with her all the time, I wanted new toys all the time. I loved playing with her and watching all the expressions on her face. Brittany was and still is a very animated communicator and I enjoyed every moment with her.
The sun was shining and it was hot outside at Evan’s parent’s home, so we decided to let Brittany spend a while in the pool with her Barbies. Since the dolls were quite accustomed to being dragged into the shower each night, the pool was just another great body of water for the long haired, nicely tanned, skinny waisted, big boobed Barbie dolls.
It was what happened AFTER she got out of the pool that makes this such a cute story.
Brittany and the Barbies had taken a shower to get the chlorine off, but most especially to get it out of their hair. It was not uncommon to hear Brittany talking to and for her Barbies. Actually she did it all the time. I can hear her now…
“You really should wear a different outfit.”
“Have you seen my red shoes?”
“She has been saying some crazy things lately.”
On this particular occasion, her dialog was more like…
“Did you have a good time in the pool?” ask the black haired Barbie.
“I did!” said the super long haired blond Barbie.
“I need to take care of your hair or it will turn green, so stop moving around and talking so much,” Brittany told them.
She was very attentive to the needs of her toys. So in case you missed the significance, let me explain what you are looking at in the photo.
All the Barbie dolls were naked. The male Barbies (Ken) didn’t need extra attention since their hair was just painted on, so they were sprawled on the seat of the chair. Brittany sat next to them all clean with her braided ponytail. She took each of the female Barbies, bent them over backward and hung them from the back of the chair so that their hair hung down. Then Brittany took the hairdryer while sitting in the hot sun and dried the dolls hair.
Yeah, you read that sentence right.
She dried their hair!
The whole time, I could hear her talking a mile a minute to the dolls.
Isn’t that a cute story with a fantastically funny photo?!
Brittany recently cut off a whole lot of her naturally curly red hair. Isn’t she so beautiful?
Brittany, I love you.

Teresha,
Brittany and Alyssa both have given me my best memories. I’m so glad we snapped the picture back in the day when everyone didn’t have digital cameras and there was no such a thing as a camera on the cell phone. Times sure have changed.
I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I wish I had more family memory photos. This one’s a delight! What does Brittany have to say about it now?
The Redhead Riter says
I wish I had more photos of me when I was young too, Skip. I REALLY wish there had been digital cameras when Alyssa and Brittany were little. I would probably have taken a billion. LOL
