A driver enters a freeway only to be caught in a traffic jam.

At first, he thinks there must be an accident. But then he sees a group of people running between the cars and knocking on driver-side windows.

Finally, someone knocks on his window. When he rolls it down, the person says, “A terrorist group has just kidnapped Congress. They’re asking a $10,000,000 ransom payment in 24 hours. And if they don’t get it, they’ll douse Congress with gasoline and set them on fire. I’m here taking a collection.”

The driver asks, “On the average, how much have people been giving you?”

The man replies, “About a gallon.”
