Shopping With A Click

By Sherry Riter 1 Comment

You know I hate shopping.

I promise I’m a woman.

The thing is that I like staying home all comfy in my pajamas.

Wearing sleepwear to the store wouldn’t go over very well. Alyssa would also think I had lost my mind if I did such a thing.

Another part about shopping that I don’t like is sorting through all the merchandise. Of course, finding something personalized is nearly impossible.

For instance…If I want to buy a personalized pen for a gift, it would be impossible to just walk into the store and find what I wanted without a whole lot of hassle.

First I’d have to explain to the store personnel that I wanted an engraved pen after which I would have to spend lots of time looking at the offering and discussing prices.

I don’t like that part about shopping.

Haggling and shopping are not skills I want to perfect.

But I’m living in the era of fast technology and with just a few clicks of my wireless mouse while sitting in my pajamas at home, I can buy anything I want to buy.

Years ago I had to plan meetings and set up trade show booths. The thing you always need at a trade show is a little reminder that the perspective customer can take away with them. Ohhh how I had to search the world over looking for not only the cute thing to pass out, but also for the products required to set up the booth!

Little did I know that I could have stayed home and clicked on Tradeshow Joe for all my trade show needs.

I lived and learned!

I remember that we did give out pens, but we also baked chocolate cookies in a little oven.

Can you guess which booth was the most popular at the trade show?

Oh yeah!

The smell of fresh baked cookies filled the arena and people flocked to our booth. We had their undivided attention, fed them yummy cookies and gave them pens with our name on it.

Do you think they forgot us?

No way!

Do you think my boss told me I was a genius?

(smile)

I might have to give them a serious look. It is intriguing. Thanks for sharing.

I don't haggle well, but I love to shop for deals and bargains.
