Copyright On A Photo

Should I Copyright The Photos On My Blog?

All the information about reasons and rules for copyrighting your blog holds true for photos on your website as well.

Here are three standard rules for photo copyrights:

  1. Include the copyright symbol © which can be obtained by using the ALT key and 0169 on the keyboard key pad. If you do not have a key pad on your computer keyboard, & copy ; without any of the spaces or & # 169 ; also without any spaces between the symbols will produce the copyright symbol which is the letter “c” with a circle around it.
  2. Include the year or the full date of the photo’s publication.
  3. After that, include your name, pseudo name or blog title.

Where you place the copyright is purely up to you.

How To Put A Copyright Symbol On A Photograph

There are many programs that enable you to add the copyright to a photograph.

Red, I hate to bother you but as you know I'm relatively new at this blogging thing. I use Picassa to edit my photos and I checked the box off for a watermark. However, I tried using the keyboard shortcuts you provided and I can't get the c with the circle. What am I doing wrong? Help would be appreciated…:)JP
