Rockin’ Friends Spotlight

By Sherry Riter 3 Comments

Rockin' Friends Spotlight of the Week

This is the weekly post where I spotlight my Rockin’ Friends who are the Top Nine active participants and loyal followers in my community! If you want to be mentioned here next week, then all it takes is to come in and start chatting with everyone in my community.

With a big thank you for their participation and friendship, here are the Rockin’ Friends this week in order of most participation:

  • Katlupe at Homesteading on the Internet
  • Paula at Love Is A Journey
  • Kristi at The Child Sensitive Communication Grid
  • Marlene at Marlene’s Many Hats
  • Lori at Lori’s LOLz
  • Kim at The Zany Housewife
  • Cathy at Cathy Kennedy’s Blog
  • Carol at ArtMuseDogs
  • Bry at Embracefire Bry Jensen

This week the special spotlight is shining on Cathy of Cathy Kennedy’s Blog. Cathy’s “About Me” is as follows:

“My grassroots are in the hills of southern WV, where I met and married my high school Sweetheart in 1979. We moved to Knoxville shortly after our wedding, where I completed my education and my husband worked as an Electrical Engineer for a large company. For the last 17-years, I’ve devoted my energies to homeschooling our three children. I have graduated two of our three children successfully and our third is currently in highschool. Last fall, I resumed writing my children’s stories and I was picked up by a small press in Wisconsin to publish my book, THE TALE OF OLE GREEN EYES, which is expected to be released later in 2010.”

I was touched by Cathy’s description of her honeymoon in Married at 17 – Success or Failure?…

The first time for husband and wife to come together as God had intended. Oh the innocence of our youth and of the time we were reared. Would it not be grand if our society still kept disciple over this almighty emotional awakening until the appointed time – ones’ wedding night? My husband reserved a quaint, secluded cabin at Blue Stone State Park. Our romantic hide-away was nestled in the ‘Almost Heaven West Virginia’ mountains. It was perfect.

I was happy to FINALLY learn the secret of my mother’s youthful appearance which I found in Sex Makes Women Look Younger. You can’t deny it any longer Mom because I learned the secret in Cathy’s blog! (wink)

I love to hear women that express contentment in being a stay-at-home-mother and being satisfied with her role in the family.

I know that as people age, many develop arthritis which Cathy discusses in her post as well as the differences between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Cathy has an exciting event coming up which she announces in this post about Tale of Ole Green Eyes. I won’t spoil the fun and tell you, so hop over and visit her blog to find out the surprise.

Another great post called By-gone Days expresses the feelings of millions of parents. I also loved the Snippets of Illustrations found in Cathy’s book. Last but not least I’m sure you will appreciate and relate to Murphy’s Law: If anything can go wrong, it will.

I’m so glad that I’ve been able to get to know Cathy better since she has become active in my community and by reading her blog. Be sure to add Cathy Kennedy’s Blog to your blogroll, but also come over and chat with Cathy in my community.

For everyone mentioned in the top nine this week, feel free to grab the Rockin’ Friend badge below and thank you for your participation!!
