Welcome to “Tell The Truth Thursday” where the question that has been posted in my right side bar gets answered by me and you! Did you prepare your post and are you ready to drop your URL into the Linky so that we all can follow? Grab the thumb above linking it back to this blog posting and let’s get started…
The question this week is :
- Do you have a hobby?
I haven’t had a whole lot of time for hobbies in the last few years, however, I still have them. I just started crocheting my daughter “something” that I think she is going to love and it is turning out nicely. I will let you see it when I’m finished. Yes, you have to wait. The anticipation is good for you. Don’t you love surprises?
There are many other things that I love to do. For instance, I find it relaxing and very enjoyable when I:
There are a few things that I know I do not like to do. I believe that you should put yourself out there and try new things and so, I tried it and don’t like it. I can say that for a fact. Here are a few of those things:
- stenciling
- painting walls
- painting pictures on a canvas
- cutting wood on a table saw (too much fear of taking off a finger)
- tatting
- crocheting with the super tiny thread (I’m too blind for it)
- making flower arrangements
- cutting glass for anything (that is just a nightmare project!)
There are only two things on my list of things I would like to learn how to do proficiently and they go hand-in-hand:
- learn to play the piano
- read music
If I could learn how to play the piano, the girl who hates to shop would love to shop for a baby grand piano. My ultimate dream since I was very young is to have the talent to sit playing the piano in the flickering glow of a candlelit evening.
I’m such a romantic.
Speaking of being romantic…
Don’t forget that tonight, September 22nd, is the Super Harvest Moon which means that there will be a full moon on the same day that autumn begins. When the sun sets in the west and mixes with the light of the moon rising in the east, it will create what NASA calls a “360-degree, summer-autumn twilight glow that is only seen on rare occasions.”
So at exactly 11:09 p.m. EST, which is the moment of the autumn equinox, the Super Harvest Moon will pair with the second brightest object in the sky – Jupiter.
I will definitely put down my crocheting to enjoy this romantic lunar event.
the only life
you are sure of.
Make the most of today.
Get interested in something.
Shake yourself awake.
Develop a hobby.
Let the winds of enthusiasm
sweep through you.
Live today with gusto.”
Single crochet, double crochet, turn…
I can’t hardly wait to finish this surprise for Alyssa!

Sorry I've been MIA a lot lately… I'm having some computer issues and things have been crashing and driving me crazy. That will soon change as hubby just ordered me a new and BETTER computer!! YAY!! HAPPY DAY! ;D
I love your vision of the Baby Grand!! I've thought how LOVELY that would be, myself! It would TOTALLY FILL our front room. LOL!!
I also love that you've given so many things a try!
Hope your well and still keeping your dad and you in my prayers! I'll be around more again when the new computer arrives and I get more caught up on all these backed up projects for other people… GAH!!! (((HUGS)))

I love the baby grand… and playing the piano too.
This gave me pause because as I thought about it, I realized how much I've changed my hobbies over the years… good time to revisit and rekindle.
Best,
Elizabeth

I love this! I love to be crafty, and it looks like we like to do a lot of the same things.
I am currently quilting (sneak peek on my blog right now), and next I'll be crocheting some blankets for babies in Afghanistan. I could literally do projects 24/7.
And if I lived near you, I would teach you how to play the piano. :))
