The question this week is :
- What do you miss most about being young??
I have very fond memories of being a child…
running through the sprinkler
playing with lady bugs
riding my bicycle
sitting in church next to Gran-Gran
buttered bread for snack
lavender bedroom walls
Dad mowing
black and white television
pretzels
brushing Mom’s hair
Each of my memories bring to mind a vivid image with a common thread of love, peace, happiness, and innocence.
The innocence of youth is not merely a saying.
It is the same feeling I have as I stand at the edge of the ocean,
feet buried in the wet sand,
waves sloshing around my ankles,
only seeing the vastness of the water and sky.
My mind begins to relax and the frivolities of a complicated adulthood slip away.
For just a while,
it is just me,
nature,
God,
innocence,
and
I am free
and I feel young again.

Beautiful!
I love the lavender bedroom walls one!
Eek-and B&W tv. And what about when the channels just stopped? Like totally shut down for the night and it would just show a flag waving? crazy to think about now, with the 900 channels available 24/7!
I miss frog hunting at the lake (I don't like frogs now though!) and the excitement of hearing the ice cream man coming down the block!

I miss climbing trees. I used to be so good at it! I tried the other day and nearly broke my bum…another painful reminder that I'm not "young"
