I’m a wordy, musical person. I love the lyrics to songs and one of my favorite artists is James Taylor. High of this list of favorite songs is “You’ve Got A Friend,” which expresses the loving message that a real friend would convey.
- ? ? When you’re down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running,
To see you again.
Winter, spring , summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You’ve got a friend.
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together
and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name
and you know where ever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain’t it good to know
that you’ve got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They’ll hurt you and desert you.
Well they’ll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don’t you let them.
You just call out my name
and you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don’t you know that,
Winter, spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you’ve got to do is call.
Lord, I’ll be there, yes I will.
You’ve got a friend.
You’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
You’ve got a friend.? ?
Ahhhhhhhhh….I love that song and those sentiments….. Just give me a second while I compose myself again ? ? You’ve got a friend-d-d-d-d-d ? ?
I’m ready now!!!!

This week the special spotlight is shining on Holly at Diamond Potential. Holly’s “About Me” reads as follows:
Holly has lived EVERYWHERE! Well, not literally, but she sure has traveled a whole bunch. She has so many wonderful stories she can tell from the different parts of the world that she has lived.
Of course, I definitely feel a connection with someone who can’t tan, is a list maker, likes country music, and was born the same time of year as me!
Holly struggles with being bipolar and the way some people try to act as if it isn’t really a disorder.
In one of our discussions, the thing in a blog that turns her off was “I don’t like commenters that just like to stir up controversy. I think THUMPER’s THEORY should apply, ‘If you can’t say sumthin’ nice, don’t say anything at all.'” I feel that way about blogs too, but even more so with the NEWS on the television!
While I was hanging around Holly’s blog, I read her labels and saw the name Carrie Underwood. I immediately clicked it! I just can’t resist a beautiful singing voice. Anyway, Holly tries to have a spiritual message on Sunday and it really hit home for me today. Besides the beautiful picture of Hawaii that she posted, part of what she said was, “I am always reminded that God is pouring his love down on us, we just can’t always see/feel it because we are busy, it’s too bright/dark, or we’re not always in the right frame of mind. He is ALWAYS there for US, though.”
It has been a pleasure getting to know Holly and reading her blog. Be sure to add Diamond Potential on your blogroll, but also come over and chat with her in my community.
For everyone mentioned in the top nine this week, feel free to grab the Rockin’ Friend badge below and thank you for your participation.
Until the spotlight next week…Happy Chatting Rockin’ Friends!

WOW!! I feel so honored!! Did I go manic in your community?? LOL!! Well, your community IS much more fun than mine. ;D You actually have people interacting! It's AWESOME!!
I love that song, too!! Here's my response to it:
Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
your heart is true you're a pal and a confidant
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see, the biggest gift would be from me
and the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend (+3X)
If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a cadillac
Whatever you need, anytime of the day or night
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear, even though it's hard to hear
I will stand real close and say,
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend (+5X)
And when we die and float away
Into the night, the Milky Way
You'll hear me call, as we ascend
I'll see you there, then once again
Thank you for being a friend…
OK, so maybe I can't afford a Cadillac, but it's the thought that counts. Right?
Thank you!!

Reading your post and the comments just made me miss my best friends even more. I live in CA and my BFF's are on the east coast. I don't get to see them often but thank goodness there is FB or I'd never talk to them at all. There is nothing like a friend!
