Rockin’ Friends Spotlight

By Sherry Riter 6 Comments

Friendships are like flowers.

Friendship is a closer bond than mere acquaintances. It is a relationship that makes our lives happier and more complete.

Qualities of a good friend (in a quality friendship) include:

  • honesty
  • trust
  • support
  • affection
  • comfort
  • shared interests
  • respect
  • service to one another
  • loyalty
  • attentive in the good and bad times
  • overlook each other’s flaws
  • kind
  • nice
  • genuine interest in each other’s lives and being

The relationship between friends will grow with constant care and experiences shared together. Think of this relationship like a beautiful flower. If it is planted, watered and tended with care, it will grow and bloom. The same stands true with friendships. Spending time together in shared experiences and exchanging ideas, knowledge, service and affection will cause the friendship to mature, grow and bloom.

Are you the type of friend that helps a relationship bloom?

Friendships can bloom.

This is the weekly post where I spotlight my Rockin’ Friends who are the Top Nine active participants and loyal followers in my community! If you want to be mentioned here next week, then all it takes is to come in and start chatting with everyone in my community.

With a big thank you for their participation and friendship, here are the Rockin’ Friends this week in order of most participation:

  • Heather at Family Volley
  • Marlene at Marlene’s Many Hats
  • Katlupe at Homesteading on the Internet
  • Nan at Quality Time
  • Holly at Diamond Potential
  • Kim at The Zany Housewife
  • Kristi at The Child Sensitive Communication Grid
  • PJ at PJ’s Prayer Line
  • PaulaDevi at Tales of Spirit, Nostalgia, Struggle, Depression

This week the special spotlight is shining on Katlupe of Homesteading on the Internet. Katlupe’s “About Me” reads as follows:

I live in an off-the-grid homestead with my husband and assorted critters in the middle of the state forest in upstate NY. We try to live a self-sufficient life as much as possible in these times. Contrary to popular belief…..we are not living old fashioned, but as my husband likes to say, “of the future.” Blending high tech with ways of old for a peaceful, stress free existence. It is called “Modern Homesteading!”

I have learned so much while chatting with Katlupe and reading her blog. It was a unanimous decision my my community that she can’t ever stop blogging because we all love to read about this amazing woman and her lifestyle!

The next time you feel like complaining about all the laundry you have to wash in your “electric” washing machine, I want you to remember this Mobile Washer. I don’t think you will complain for much longer.

Katlupe and her husband have a beautiful garden and not only is she able to cook with the vegetables that are grown, but she definitely has a knack for canning everything in preparation of the cold winter months.

On top of all the manual labor without the electric modern conveniences that so many people take for granted, Katlupe also has her own home business. She can work on her home business, take a few hours to weed the garden, work at her business a little more, cook a delicious meal with her own vegetables and then work a little more at her business, all while looking out on beautiful forest scenery.

It has been a pleasure getting to know Katlupe and reading her blog. Be sure to add Homesteading on the Internet on your blogroll, but also chat come over and chat with her in my community.

For everyone mentioned in the top nine this week, feel free to grab the Rockin’ Friend badge below and thank you for your participation.

I love how you mention honesty and trust as the top 2 qualities of a good friend, because without those 2 I don't think you could have a healthy relationship.

I'm goin to check out Homesteading on the Internet. I love learning about new blogs.
