Rockin’ Friends Spotlight

By Sherry Riter 8 Comments

“We cannot tell the exact moment a friendship is formed; as in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses, there is at last one that makes the heart run over.”

This is the weekly post where I spotlight my Rockin’ Friends who are the Top Nine active participants and loyal followers in my community! If you want to be mentioned here next week, then all it takes is to come in and start chatting with everyone in my community.

With a big thank you for their participation and friendship, here are the Rockin’ Friends this week:

    Marlene’s Many Hats
    Homesteading on the Internet
    Diamond Potential
    The Zany Housewife
    Quality Time
Are You There God? It’s Me.
Tales of Spirit, Nostalgia, Struggle, Depression
    The Child Sensitive Communication Grid
    Kat’s Almost Purrfect World

This week the special spotlight is shining on Marlene of Marlene’s Many Hats. One of her few postings is as follows:

Friday, July 16, 2010

Setting up a blog is a BIG process! As some of you know, I really made a mess of it yesterday. I have temporarily given up on the menu bar across the top. SO…..two steps forward and one step back. 🙂 I also find myself a bit intimidated about writing out my thoughts. Who will read this? Will they judge? Should I share my blog with family? Just thinking out loud.

While chatting with Marlene in my community, I have found her to be a lovely woman with great character. She is also generous with her time for helping others. One day she was going to make cards and when we all wanted to know who the cards were for, she said :

It is a group that makes cards to donate. (Hospital, Meals on Wheels, etc.)

Marlene also has a great sense of humor.

I am HOT because I am 51! (Not the kind of hot you’re probably writing about!) Ok, I am also hot because I live in Arizona.

This week rather than asking you to check out her blog and read all the great posts, I have to say that there are only a few posts so far. However, I want everyone to jump over and follow Marlene’s Many Hats and leave her a comment to support her effort at learning to not only write a blog, but also to set it up herself. That definitely deserves some KUDOS!

For everyone mentioned in the top nine this week, feel free to grab the Rockin’ Friend badge below and thank you for your participation.

Love the photo with the quote. So glad to hear that you have blog struggles at times too because they all seem so perfect.

    Marlene sounds awesome!!

I do something similar – we make cards for kids once a month as a volunteer project I host. The kids are from all around the states and I get their info from makeachildsmile.org or hugsandhope.org.

Anyone can do it at any time!
