Overcome and Conquer

By Sherry Riter 4 Comments

Motivational Lift
I will be the first to tell you, that most of the time it is difficult believing in my own abilities or giving myself credit for my talents and accomplishments. I don’t think I’m very different from many others in that aspect of the human character.

I frequently say, “I’m a wimp” with real conviction. However, looking back over my life, I realize the road has not been easy all the time. Outwardly, it has often appeared smooth and unfettered, but inside I have my own set of weaknesses to overcome and conquer. Some people call these our inner demons. They are powerful, but not stronger than we allow.

Regardless of race, gender or age, the conflicts within can often be overwhelming and require a tremendous amount of strength to overcome. Each day is a new opportunity to try again. Another chance to love, improve, learn, acknowledge and succeed.

Do not shrink.

Never quit.

Always hope.

Lastly, don’t call yourself a wimp because having made it this far in life is powerful proof that you are strong and successful. Whether others know of your struggles or accomplishments is irrelevant. Have peace within and acknowledge your worth.

The big blue sky, always changing

Don’t limit yourself.
Many people limit themselves
to what they think they can do.
You can go as far
as your mind lets you.
What you believe,
remember,
you can achieve.

I love this post! I'm one of those people who often is my toughest critic and don't give myself enough credit for my own strength…I might print that poem out and put it up on my bulletin board at work…
