Phone ringing…
Me: Hello?
Woman: Is this Alyssa’s mother?
Me: Yes.
Woman: This is Alyssa’s 1st grade teacher, Ms. ____. I don’t want you to take this the wrong way because Alyssa is an excellent student.
Me: Okay.
Woman: I also don’t want to squash her entrepreneurial spirit and ambition.
Me: Okay.
Woman: Do you know that Alyssa makes macramé bracelets?
Me: Yes, and she is very good at it. .
Woman: I agree, she does a fantastic job. But Alyssa is bringing them to school and selling them to her classmates. They are using their lunch money to buy the bracelets.
Me: (laughting)
Woman: She is quite motivated and ambitious, but can you direct her to not sell them at school any more?
Me: I sure will. Thank you for calling.
Alyssa: Oh lots Mommy! I’ve been taking them to school!
Me: Really?
Alyssa: Yes, I’m selling them to my friends. Everyone wants one.
Me: Well, that is just too cool. They are really very pretty.
Alyssa: That’s why everyone wants one Mommy!
Me: That’s a great idea, but we’re going to have to find somewhere else for you to sell them because you can’t sell them at school any more.
Alyssa: Why?
Me: Well, your friends are giving you their lunch money and they are getting too hungry. They can’t eat your beautiful bracelets.
Alyssa: (laughing) I didn’t think about that Mommy.
Me: No biggie. I’m so proud of you!!! Will you make me one too? I’ll buy it!
Alyssa: Sure!
Me: How much do they cost?
Alyssa: $1.00
Me: So how much money have you made with your business so far?
Alyssa: I’m rich! I’ve got $45.00!!!
That’s my girl!!!
I love this story. You must be so very proud!
This is just too cute. I would be one proud momma too.
Wow! She did well in her business!
What a remarkable young lady. She could always sell what she makes on Etsy.com perhaps.
The bracelets are beautiful, she's lucky to have both an artistic and entrepreneurial spirit. Great story to start the day!
How awesome! Maybe she could sell on etsy…….I'd buy one! 🙂
This is wonderful and what a great entrepreneurial spirit she has! Okay so instead of a lemonade stand I suggest a friendship bracelet stand and watch her money roll in. Hugs!
Way to go Alyssa, crafty, bright and entraprenerial!! Way to go mommy, crafty, bright and entraprenerial!!!
I think they should let her sell them at school. What happened to free enterprise? If those girls want to spend their money on bracelets….Okay I am done ranting. Cute bracelets.
That is awesome! And $45!?! I was thinking she made just a couple of bucks, not that much.
You are so awesome to support Alyssa's ambition!
i haven't been over in a bit and thought i'd stop by and say "hi" and see what's up in your part of blogasphere.. how are you doing? your daughter is quite the entrepeneur!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm not too far from you. I'm outside Philadelphia, PA.
I'm shocked that she earned $45. That is incredible and I would be proud as well!!!
Great story. I love it! I'm sure the kids were hungry, but they probably loved their bracelets!
All I can say is….. she is a true entrepreneurial!!
