The Ultimate Gift is one of the most wonderful, clean, family oriented, thought provoking movies I have seen in a long time. James Garner is forever etched in my brain from his role in The Notebook, but I loved his acting even when I was a little girl. The Rockford Files was one of my favorite shows and I always thought I would grow up and marry him. I was so silly. Do you remember that television show?
The Ultimate Gift is about how oil tycoon Howard ‘Red’ Stevens estate is divided after his death. His greedy and spoiled family members gather for the reading of the will in the law office of his partner and friend, Mr. Theophillis ‘Ted’ Hamilton, along with his associate Miss Hastings. His grandson’s journey through the various gifts Red gives him and the people he meets along the way is the movie setting.
Young and old can enjoy this movie. It will make you cry, so have the tissues handy, but it will also have you laughing. It will entertain while it teaches you about greed, unselfishness, love, devotion, family, forgiveness, humility, and so much more. The little girl Jason meets will touch your heart. In a way, she reminded me of Curly Sue. If you haven’t seen that movie, it also is a fantastic way to spend ninety minutes.
What movies have you found that are just “the greatest” feel good shows? Alyssa and I always enjoy sitting back (laying down and stretching out) to watch great flicks, so I look forward to your recommendations.

My husband and I watched a movie today that almost had me "rolling in the floor the whole time. I don't know if it's a new release or not, I'm not much on movies, but it is titled "Old Dogs". It starts Robin Williams (he's actually using decent family rated language, and John Trvolta. I haven't laughed so hard in a VERY long time. Be sure and check it out. It's touching as well, because the plot has to do with Robin's "old flame" coming back into his life to let him know that he has twin children (which he didn't know about before they broke up), and the journey of him getting to know them by taking care of them while she has to spend 2 weeks in jail for trespassing as an activist. It's really a good movie, NO NUDITY, NO PROFANITY, just plain unadulterated fun.
God Bless!
