How Far Can You Go?

By Sherry Riter 3 Comments

Most parents believe that their tiny baby has innate abilities which will allow it to grow into adulthood and accomplish anything. Indeed, as the child grows, parents stand on the sidelines and cheer for their child at sporting events, the performing arts, and any other activity the child participates.

Countless hours are spent in the background transporting, coaching, teaching, praising, encouraging, loving, listening, and the list goes on and on.

Is it worth it?

I think it is completely worth the effort and so do millions of other parents around the world.

“People will go farther
than they think they could
when someone else thinks they can.”
~John Maxwell~

But this concept doesn’t apply to only children.

Have you ever had apprehension before following through with a personal goal? Were you filled with self-doubt or possibly frozen with fear? Did the task suddenly feel insurmountable?

Often someone is there to give a wink, nod, pat on the back or even an encouraging pep talk. They have credibility because we have seen them climb mountains in their own lives. If they are believing in us, it obviously must be true—we can do anything! Deep inside we may feel or even know that we “can do it” just like the Little Engine That Could, but having someone else validate our intentions makes it more believable.

Always remember, you can go as far as you dream you can go. So move forward and don’t ever look back. Dream big!
