It was never my intention to upset my mother. She has cried all day much to my dismay. My mother does not know Sophia. Knowing her at this point is irrelevant. The unhappiness that I started to speak of with yesterday’s posting brought back too many hurtful memories for Mom. I think she relived them all today. I’m sorry I didn’t forewarn you Mom. You are and have always been a wonderful woman…worthy of being loved and adored.
My plan was to spread Sophia’s story over several weeks so that you could digest and contemplate it. I was going to intersperse “happy” postings between the more serious posts. That is no longer the plan. I will continue her story tomorrow and keep posting until it is completed. I hope you will follow along. You may not suffer from an abusive spouse, but as evidenced in the comments on yesterday’s post, there are people that touch our lives when we least expect it who have lived this terrible unhappiness.
I pray that our children are wiser than us all and never stay in a home filled with abuse.
Tonight I will continue with the “happy” posting I had planned. I will meet you all back here tomorrow with Sophia.
Before I get into the specifics, let me say that I am often uplifted, taught, informed, or amused by not only your replies on my blog, but on the postings of your blogs. I read the blogs of women all over the world with talents that amaze me daily. So I am humbled and excited that you choose to read my blog and furthermore, continuously bestow lovely awards and compliments my way.
and I do like to pass the day with you
in serious and inconsequential chatter.
I wouldn’t mind washing up beside you,
dusting beside you,
reading the back half of the paper
while you read the front.
We are friends and I would miss you,
do miss you and think of you very often.โ

Mamahood, Among Other Things at http://buckeroomama.blogspot.com and And then there was me… at http://artisticallynuts.blogspot.com each gave me the Superior Scribbler award which basically means that they enjoy my writing a.k.a. scribbles. I’m so glad that they do!
These are the rules of the award:

- Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.
- Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog.

- I sing like a dying cow.
- My high school biology teacher made the crudest redhead remark I had or have ever experienced and completely humiliated me in front of the entire class.
- I used to hate putting the flatware in the drawer until I removed the plastic separator and let all the flatware party together “undivided” completely stressing out my entire family and extended family because it “just isn’t the way the drawer is supposed to be arranged.” That’s the point, it isn’t arranged any more!

Woohoo!! Thanks so much for the award! And what a wonderful award it is…
I own a share in a cow… it is great, I get 2 gallons of raw milk a week. It is so much better for you! My grandson drinks only raw milk. His Mom just got over the not-so-famous Swine flu (just another strain of flu) and he got through it with nothing. Our kids need to have those bacteria to build their immune system.
Didn't mean to get on the soap box and start rambling.

First of all, congrats on all the awards my Dear! You deserve every one…your blog is honest, well written and a joy to visit.
I just went and read Sophia's post too, may I say that abuse of such kind is not something I have experienced myself, but rather relived through a very dear friend of mine who has suffered not once, but a few times at the hand of an abusive partner. Her ex husband nearly took her life 2 years after they had split and she suffered over 3 hours of constant attack. I cannot tell you what this does to a woman, I cannot tell you how it feels as friend to hear, but I can say that the strength she has shown since amazes me every day. She's grateful to have a life to continue living and she's a wonderful friend.
I'm glad you will still tell Sophia's story, no one should suffer at the hands of an abuser. x
Oh Sew Good says
I'm looking forward to hearing Sophia's story. I believe the more women and abused men are free to talk about it the less it will happen.

Congrats on your awards, you deserve them.
I will read Sophia's story. I too will be upset by it. Not for myself, but for a beautiful friend I have.
Thank you for writing about this type of abuse. More needs to be written and talked about in the hopes it will help at least one woman.

Thanks for the award! You're so sweet. I'll probably post it tomorrow. I'm dead tired tonight. I don't know what's wrong with me this week.
Here's 10 things you don't know about me (I don't think):
1. I wish I had my own horse. In fact I wish I had an entire horse farm with lots of horses and could ride all day.
2. I want to trot the globe and visit as many countries as possible.
3. I want to move back to Ohio and have it be my main home.
4. I'd love to teach a college class or even be a full time instructor.
5. I want to travel in space with Star Trek and discover new galaxies and civilations.
6. I want to ride a motorcyle (but never have).
7. I don't like airplanes.
8. I hate reptiles.
9. I really wish I had a brother and or sister. I hate being a lonely only.
10. I love Superman.
