A New Refrigerator!

By Sherry Riter 3 Comments

Oh yeah! This caught my eye! Is there really anything better for creativity and to stop the roar of a growling tummy than a well stocked beautiful free refrigerator? Did you catch that operative word…FREE. I want a free refrigerator!

Samsung Home Appliances and TwitterMoms have teamed up to give away a new award winning Samsung French Door Refrigerator! We want to know, with your busy schedules, what are your 3 valid tips for getting dinner ready in a flash?

With all the things moms have to do in a day including car pooling, cooking, doing the laundry, cleaning the house, running errands and packing lunch boxes, dinner time can become just another stressor.

What are your tips and advice for making dinner go smoother, easier and faster?

Here are a few of mine:

  1. Buy in bulk and rotate…I don’t like shopping and that includes grocery shopping. I try to make one big trip a month to buy everything in bulk. Then I come home and divide foods that need to be frozen into family meal portions. Then I organize the refrigerator and freezer with like items together.
  2. On the weekends, I cook extra meals and freeze them so that during the week, I just have to pop it into the oven or microwave to reheat. If I do have to cook the main dish during the week, I make enough for two meals and freeze one.
  3. Crock pots can truly be a life saver when you are gone all day. Upon arriving back home, you open the door to lovely smells of dinner cooked and ready to be served.
  4. Utilize all the burners…Invest in pots and pans of varying sizes so that you can cook food on all the burners at the same time. Organize the meal so that you can have everything cooking and ready to eat at the same time. Don’t be scared of the “High” setting on the stove. Many people tend to overcook some foods, so use the high setting and cook it quickly.
  5. Keep the refrigerator clean…Don’t waste time by storing moldy food that you grab when you are trying to get dinner on the table. Having to go through container after container is just more time spent away from the task of making a delicious dinner for you family. Clean it up and clean it out!

Here’s the best part…One blogger who enters the Sweepstakes will be randomly selected to win a free award winning Samsung French Door Refrigerator (RFG297AARS) (http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/appliances/refrigerators/french-…)! That's one sweet fridge. It's probably a lot more space than I'd need though. Good luck winning it 🙂

    And thanks for the e-mail!

Woah, that's pretty cool. I don't need a new fridge, but it would be nice… Stopping by from MBC!
