Let me first handle a little business…fun business and then we will get down to the title of my posting.
Thank you for the awards. I’m actually blown away by your kind words about me and my blog. I will proudly display them on my Awards page!
The first is the Your Blog is Fabulous award from Pour Some Sugar On Me
*The rules:
List five current obsessions and pass the award on to five more fabulous blogs:
- My Family
- The computer
- Learning (paper, words, books)
- Being the best I can possibly be
- All the food that I’m not supposed to eat
My list of bloggie friends is below, so visit their blogs and share a little comment encouragement…
- Natalee at Raising Normal Kids reads everything I write…How can I not give her this award!
- Teresa at Too Many Heartbeats uses little ?‘s too and has the same name as my mom. She has a 15 year old daughter who just had a birthday and I can soooooo relate since this is her “baby girl” and Alyssa is my “only child.”
- Tania at Larger Family Life ask us to imagine running to catch the bus or grocery shopping in the “Twitterpated Shoes” which made me totally laugh out loud.
- Stacey at Bloggin’ It Like It Is speaks frankly and I love the truth.
- Debbie at On The Refrigerator Door makes me feel young with her posts and she makes cute comments that remind me of something my daughter would say to me. I need all of that I can get these days.
- And I know this is number six, but this is for Teresha and Damon at Bun in the Oven who hasn’t posted since Wednesday, so maybe the bun isn’t in the oven any more!!!
Next I received the Humane Award from Natalee at Raising Normal Kids
*The rules:
“The Humane Award” honors certain bloggers that I feel are kindhearted individuals. They regularly take part in my blog and always leave the sweetest comments. I love love love them!!!!!!
Their blogs are also amazing and are tastefully done on a daily basis. I thank them and look forward to our growing friendships through the blog world.
Link back to the person who gifted you with the award and share the love with other bloggers.”
Now that I received the award, I am going to pass it along to 4 other bloggers who are deserving of the Humane Award – they stop by my blog often and leave such nice comments – thanks!! Please go check out their blogs as well.
Without further adieu…
- Yaya at Yaya Stuff
- Diana at To Everything A Season
- Lee at I Want To Be That
- Amy at Modge Podge Amy
- Sharon at Gamma Sharon
And last, but not least, a “You Don’t Say?” award from Sharon at Gamma Sharon.
*The rules:
All bloggers love comments. An award that recognizes great commenters is a brilliant idea. And that’s the idea behind the You Don’t Say Award. Sharon at Gamma Sharon was kind enough to pass this award on to me.
Getting awards is always an honor but an award that recognizes those bloggers who consistently comment is a high honor indeed. The You Don’t Say Award “… is for beautiful people who practice blogging etiquette by visiting or visiting back, and leaving comments. Their observations are apt and helpful and it’s a pleasure to have them comment on your posts…”
- Scrappy Girl at Four Seasons Farm
- Dawn at Two Pretty Little Skirts
- Suzanne at Shabby Chicks
- Vicki at Beach Bum
- Tammy at Keep In Touch With Mommakin
Totally changing gears…did you realize that I was missing from your blogs? Did you wonder where my comments and bloggie ? had gone? It is a pretty simple explanation…Asthma.
Yeah, I have asthma. If you want to know how it feels when having a flare up, do this (ummm, don’t really do this, just imagine doing this…yeah, pretend.)
Jump in the pool, sit on the bottom of the pool, when you don’t think you can hold your breath another minute, stay at the bottom of the pool. Nope. Just sit there…
Can you feel your lungs shake…ache…pound?
Are you starting to feel panic?
Do you want a sweet breath of air?
Hmmmm, nope, sit on the bottom of the pool.
Did your life just pass before you eyes?
Okay, come on back out of the pool.
Now you are going to take in a huge breath of oxygen and immediately start choking and coughing. Your lungs will be burning and aching even more…
Great! How was that? Do you like asthma?
I don’t either and I don’t usually complain or feel sorry for myself, but hey, I am human.
So I have been doing all the right things with my asthma, but the ceiling at work collapsed – totally soaked with water from an air conditioner line and fell out onto the floor. If only Chicken Little had been there! The ceiling is made out of those cushy white tiles and with them gone, I can see waaaaaay up to the roof.
Do you know what is up there in that space…….MOLD!
So I sat a week breathing in MMMMOLDDDD.
The doctor gave me the usual medication with one being a cough syrup that makes me loopy, but it stops the spasms in my lungs which stops my tiring and annoying cough. It also has an anti-blogging chemical that makes it almost impossible to read or type. Actually, it really does impair my multi-tasking and slows me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down.
In all seriousness, if you do not know very much about asthma or how to help someone who is having an asthma attack, read about at WebMD. You never know when you might need the information.
Before I feel sorry for myself, I will remind you as I remind myself,
think of the things you don’t get
that you don’t want.”
~Oscar Wilde
To make up for all the messages that I didn’t give you, here is a really good message!
To remind you that I DO think about you, ponder your thoughts, celebrate your successes, pray for your families, and enjoy your friendships, here is an “award” button you can add to your blog. If there is anyone you want to share it with, feel free to let them know they add sunshine to your day! The code and button are below so I hope you like them! Most of all, I hope you know that I missed blogging and commenting with you.
