A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her.
Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back.
‘Oh my, I am so sorry,’ the woman says as she pops her eye back in place.
‘Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you,’ she says.
They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens.
After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for breakfast in the morning. The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible! ‘You know,’ he said, ‘you are the perfect
woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?’
‘No,’ she replies…
Here comes the punch line…I hope you’re ready!
‘You just happened to catch my eye.’
I rarely see a “redhead” joke and when I received that one in my email today, I couldn’t resist sharing it with you.
Alyssa will read this and feel that I’m hopeless….LOL.
I’m so excited!!!! The dress I’m making for Alyssa to wear to prom is almost finished. I connected the bodice and skirt (all layers) together tonight and pinned up the hem. Tomorrow I will do the hand sewing of the inner bodice, stitch the hem and make a BUNCH of the handmade roses and leaves from the same fabric as the dress. She wants me to make a rose covered strap “just in case” she decides not to go with the dress strapless. I also came up with the idea of making a little purse to go with it. I can’t hardly wait until it is finished! It has been so fun!
The rest of my day at my regular job was extremely busy. There is still a morbid cloud hanging around the whole place because at the end of May there will be about 150 employees from my immediate area fired due to the economy. I am TERRIFIED that I will be one of them. I love the company I am working for so I wouldn’t want to have to leave it, but also it would be dreadful trying to find work in this economic recession.
Which brings me to another point…How can it just be a “recession” when there are six million people unemployed now! That sounds like a “depression” to me. It is definitely “depressing” when I listen to the news and they start quoting statistics.
According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment continues to climb. With my mother having already lost her job and my job in the balance, the economy weighs heavily on my mind.
I have read a few economists reports that say the third quarter will end the decline and it will take two years to get to a stable point in our economy (barring any other economic disaster). So here is my Motivational Thought of the Day for all of us:
