I was very busy over the Thanksgiving holiday and actually had from Thursday through Sunday off from my regular job. It gave me time to cook my very delicious organic grass fed turkey with grain free gravy, sweet potatoes, massaged potatoes and…I’ll tell you the last thing in a minute.
Anyway, holidays mean that I’m going to be snapping pictures. It’s nice that I don’t have to constantly promise not to put them on my blog anymore. Everyone finally realizes that I’m not going to take the worst picture they have ever seen and blow it up for the whole world to see it. (rolling my eyes)
Well, for some reason, Mom didn’t want her picture taken this year. I have no idea why! She looked beautiful to me! Mom decided to hide her face by putting a napkin over her head. Rather than just have a plain head covered with a napkin photo, I changed the colors up a bit. As you can tell, it looks like my mother is now a ghostly, light radiating spirit. Obviously, she should have just smiled for the camera and let me get a picture!
The best picture I took of Mom was the back of her. I just love her hair! I can’t remember who said it, but someone called her Mrs. Claus. Now I keep thinking “Dolly Parton Mrs. Claus” every time I see her hair.
That’s a compliment, Mom.
The only impish thing I did over the holiday didn’t last for very long. One Christmas I made everyone in my family their own magnets. The pictures I used for the magnet backdrops were of the things that I knew would appeal to each person.
My sister, Audrey, uses the magnets to hold up the photos on her refrigerator. While Audrey was in the other room, I moved one magnet to the center of each photograph. I thought this one was rather cute. It looks like Terry is telling Audrey, “I love you.” Awwwwww!
Obviously, Audrey has lots of photos stuck to the refrigerator! I figured she would find my impish trick before I left her house, but I had no idea that she would discover it less than a minute later. I mean really, how could she notice it that fast?!!! Of course, Audrey immediately put all the magnets back in their proper place.
Gizmo, their very old dachshund, watched as the food preparation continued and patiently waited from some yummy scraps.
Now let me tell you about the other thing I cooked over my four day Thanksgiving weekend. I made a pumpkin pie with a grain free crust and it was actually DELICIOUS! I kid you not! I was pleasantly shocked because I didn’t use a recipe or measuring cups and spoons for anything. I have no idea where the cups and spoons ran off to during this move, but they are definitely hiding.
Anyway, I just threw this and that in the bowls and hoped for something edible. All I knew was that I NEEDED pumpkin pie and I’m happy to report that I ATE delicious pumpkin pie. No pictures were taken while I mixed ingredients, so I will be making another pie very soon to share the recipe with you. I did take a picture of the finished pie before I devoured it.
Honestly, I can’t tell you how happy I am that this crust tasted yummy. What a relief! I can eat pie! There’s no end to the sweet goodies I’m going to bake!!!!

I LOVE these magnets! Do you have a tutorial??
Sherry Riter says
No, but I will make a tutorial. They are so fun and hold up so well! If they can last for two years on my sister’s refrigerator, they will survive anything. LOL
