If you didn’t follow the tips from yesterday and you now find yourself sick with a cold, I have some recipes to help comfort your stuffy head and achy body.
However, if you are still fit as a fiddle, these drinks can help boost your immune system while they deliciously hydrate your body.
Herbal Tea Recipes
Pear-Apple-Lemon Herbal Tea
Start with your favorite herb or herbal tea and mason jar filled with 2 cups boiling water.
Add a little cinnamon.
Add a few drops of vanilla.
Finely dice a little Bartlett Pear and Granny Smith Apple.
Add a teaspoon of lemon juice and a few strips of lemon rinds finely chopped.
If you have to have it sweetened, add a little honey.
Let it steep for ten minutes.
Pour into a cup and serve hot.
Ginger Herbal Tea
Ginger is rich in antioxidants.
Ingredients:
2 cups boiling water
1 inch piece of fresh ginger root
Dash of nutmeg
Honey to taste
2 slices of lemon
Directions:
Boil water in a saucepan.
Peel and slice ginger root into diagonal pieces.
Add ginger and nutmeg to boiling water.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Place lemon slice in cup.
Strain liquid and pour over lemon slice in cup.
Stir in honey.
Serve hot.
Spice Ginger Garlic Herb Tea
Fantastic for opening sinuses for easier breathing.
Ingredients:
2 cups boiling water
1 inch piece of fresh ginger root
Honey to taste
2 dashes of Cayenne pepper
Directions:
Boil water in a saucepan.
Peel and slice ginger root into diagonal pieces.
Add ginger and Cayenne pepper to boiling water.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain liquid and pour in cup.
Stir in honey to taste.
Serve hot.
Oregano Tea
Fantastic for stuffy noses and has been said to help with menstrual cramps, arthritis, headache, stomachache and coughs due to colds.
Not recommended for pregnant women due to the effects on the menstrual cycle.
Ingredients:
2 cups boiling water
2 teaspoons dried oregano or 3 tablespoons fresh oregano leaves
2 dashes of Cayenne pepper (optional)
Honey to taste
Directions:
Boil water in a saucepan.
Add oregano and Cayenne pepper to boiling water.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain liquid and pour in cup.
Stir in honey to taste.
Serve hot.
Turning your nose up because you think it sounds very unappealing? Think about how miserable you are when your body is hot, aching and your nose is so stuffed you can’t breathe. That will be the time to try these recipes and when you find relief from those horrible symptoms of a cold, you will be hooked!

Looks delicious.. My favorite tea remedies are Orange Pekot tea with honey and lemon, chamomile tea and Green Tea.. I will have to try this recipe!

Ginger tea is my favorite! The pear-apple one looks so good too. I just may have to try that one. I eat a lot of garlic and onions and know they are so good for your immune system.
