There are a few basic factors that should be considered when choosing a place to store your photos online.
- The most important aspect to most people is the cost. Since so many sites are FREE, definitely check out all your options!
- Can you make your account and photos private?
- Is is easy to use for you to upload and for family and friends to view?
- Is there an option for family members and friends to view the photos?
- How much storage space is available?
- Is there a time limit for image storage?
- What can cause the images to be deleted?
- What are the features offered such as photo editing, slide shows, themes or photo gifts to name a few?
- Is a paid membership offered? If so, what is the difference in having an upgraded account versus the free account?
The following are a few photo imaging storage websites online:
The only online company that I can actually tell you about is Photobucket since I use it to host my blog photos.
Photobucket advertises that the site has a 99.9% uptime with 500MB free storage while unlimited space and bandwidth is available for a non-commercial Pro Account.
All sexually explicit and/or objectionable content is removed without notification based on their Terms of Service. I personally didn’t think that paintings of nudes by the greats would be considered “sexually explicit,” however, I was wrong! They were deleted and in their place was a BIG RED SQUARE telling me the picture had been removed for violation of the policy. I thought that was rather weird, but since I’m not big into nude photos, it didn’t really bother me much. I just tucked it away in my memory banks as a lesson learned.
Photobucket has many features which include:
- photo editing including red eye, cropping, resizing, flip, rotate, adjust, contrast, decorate, animations, distortions, layers and many, many more
- prints
- slide shows
- tags
- create a collage
- mugs, cards and photo gifts
- device skins
- photo books
I really like Photobucket, so if you are searching for a photo hosting site, I highly recommend Photobucket.com
I would love to hear where you host your photos and why you like or dislike it.
The last “Woo Us To Your Blog” post explored Bookmark Link Syncing to help keep your links not only safe, but accessible from any computer any time as long as you have an internet connection and remember your password. I love this ability since I have had computer crashes many times and lost all my links. Do you remember the message and have you synced your links? So please use the comment space and tell us all about your photo storage online resource.
As always, attached is the weekly Linky to enter either the main URL to your site or add each post you publish throughout the week. You don’t have to do anything special, just drop your link in and get a little extra exposure to your site.
Until next week’s wooing post, have fun editing and storing your photos!

Can relate. Photobucket removed a marble statue of a faun from 200 BC from my account for violating the rules. The pictures was taken in a museum!!!!!! Thinking of you!

Too easy. I love it.
Thanks always for the linky!!
