Life is full of opportunities and experiences.
Sometimes it becomes overwhelming
because there is so much
to see and do.
because there is so much
to see and do.
We try to be and do everything for everyone
which causes life to get out of focus.
which causes life to get out of focus.
The closer we are to a situation,
the more likely that our perspective can become fuzzy.
the more likely that our perspective can become fuzzy.
So we have to slow down and take things one at a time.
Enjoy all that each unique moment has to offer and
build up happiness reserves to help with the tough times.
“It is during our darkest moments
that we must focus to see the light.”
~Aristotle Onassis~
that we must focus to see the light.”
~Aristotle Onassis~
Remain centered and concentrate on
the things that matter right now.
the things that matter right now.
You can’t solve all the world’s problems
nor can you solve all of yours
if you don’t take them one at a time.
nor can you solve all of yours
if you don’t take them one at a time.
Don’t think too far into the future.
It is better to stay in the moment and
let the things we can’t foresee remain unknown.
It is better to stay in the moment and
let the things we can’t foresee remain unknown.
“With the past,
I have nothing to do;
nor with the future.
I live now.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
I have nothing to do;
nor with the future.
I live now.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
Eventually, we will get to that future date.
If we prepare now by acknowledging the good,
forgiving the bad,
and improving those things that we can,
the future will not be fear-filled.
If we prepare now by acknowledging the good,
forgiving the bad,
and improving those things that we can,
the future will not be fear-filled.
Flowers begin as seeds,
grow into plants,
become small buds,
bloom with colorful petals,
bask in the sun,
drink in the rain,
are beautified in the morning dew,
and then when the season is over,
the gorgeous petals fade and die.
There is a time for all things.
Yes, it is hard to focus on the moment,
but well worth the effort.
but well worth the effort.
“I am not afraid of tomorrow,
for I have seen yesterday
and I love today.”
~William Allen White~
for I have seen yesterday
and I love today.”

Very true! I've been spending too much time lately worrying about everything and spending less time slowing down to appreciate things. Thanks for stopping me in my tracks.

I find flowers so captivating. Evidently, you do too. That was a great way to showcase a flower series. Each photo was more beautiful than the prior one.
Thanks for sharing them with us.

Beautiful post and beautiful pictures. For me, slowing down is the most difficult thing esspecially as a single parent raising 3 children, but it is as equally impoartant in anyone's life no matter the situation. It's funny how we need to be reminded of these very simple things in life. I'm so glad I stopped by this morning.

Have you read "Bird By Bird" by Anne Lamott? I love how she came upon the title. When she was a child her brother had waited until the very last day to write a huge report about birds for school. Her dad (also a writer)put his arm around her brother and said, "Just take it bird by bird." Sometimes it's all we can do.

One of my favorite quotes is, "If you can't see te bright side of life, polish the dull side". I have to remind myself that often. I don't know who said it, I wish I did.

Awesome post! Really made my day! I'm full of responsibilities and today was filled with credit card warnings… It's cool to find places over the web where you can receive good thoughts and inspiration! It might seem like a lot from one post, but i guess you never know how far a great message can go! Anyway, awesome post! Have an awesome day! Keep on!
